What Lirivo does

Lirivo is an iPhone reader for turning your own text and documents into audio. Paste text or open a PDF, Markdown, or text file, choose a voice, listen in the app, and save generated audio for offline playback.

Start with iPhone voices

Use the voices already available on your iPhone when you want the simplest path.

Add cloud voices when useful

Connect your own Azure or Google Cloud account when more natural provider voices are worth the setup.

Keep the audio

Save generated audio so the listening experience does not depend on a connection.

One reader for local voices, cloud voices, and saved audio.

Local voices first

Listen with built-in iPhone voices without setting up a cloud provider account.

Bring your own keys

Use your own Azure or Google Cloud account when you want natural provider voices, transparent quotas, or direct account control.

Offline listening

Save generated audio and keep listening when you do not have a network connection.

Why Lirivo is shaped this way

Built for long listening, not one-off speech generation.

Lirivo focuses on the parts that make document audio useful in daily life: clear import paths, saved audio, reliable playback, local-vs-cloud choice, and honest provider boundaries.

A client for your listening workflow

Use built-in iPhone voices when simple local playback is enough. Add your own cloud provider when natural voices, generated audio, or provider-level control matter.

Cloud voice costs should stay transparent.

Lirivo does not bundle cloud voice usage into a separate consumer voice plan or resell provider credits.

Lirivo response

Use your own provider account, provider free tiers where available, and the same transparent pricing model professionals use.

Saved audio should feel dependable.

Document listening often happens while commuting, walking, cooking, or resting your eyes. Streaming-only workflows make that fragile.

Lirivo response

Saved audio, playback progress, and a calm audio library are central to the app, not an afterthought after generation.

The player should feel like a real audio app.

People listen while walking, driving, commuting, resting their eyes, or doing chores. A reader should behave closer to a podcast or audiobook player than a one-off generator.

Lirivo response

Background playback, lock-screen controls, headphone controls, resume position, speed control, and scrubbing are part of the listening experience.

Accessibility should be part of the product routine.

For VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Bluetooth controls, and long listening sessions, small player problems become real blockers.

Lirivo response

Lirivo is built with system-friendly controls, VoiceOver awareness, Dynamic Type support, and an explicit feedback loop for improving reading-support workflows.

Document support should stay honest.

Long reports, generated research, notes, and PDFs are the first use cases Lirivo is designed to make easier to listen through.

Lirivo response

Lirivo focuses public claims on text, Markdown, PDF, and tested document paths instead of pretending every complex layout is solved.

On-device mode

Built-in iPhone voices are the simple path when you want to listen without configuring a cloud voice provider.

Cloud voice mode

Cloud voice mode sends text directly from the app to the provider you choose. Lirivo does not operate an intermediary backend for those requests.

Questions people usually ask

A quick version of the details that matter before you download, connect a provider, or trust the app with your reading workflow.

Do I need an Azure or Google Cloud account?

No. You can start with built-in iPhone voices. Cloud accounts are optional for people who want provider voices and are comfortable managing their own provider setup.

What can I listen to?

Lirivo focuses on pasted text, plain text files, Markdown, PDFs, and saved audio files.

What does offline listening mean here?

Offline listening has two paths: you can listen with built-in iPhone voices without a cloud provider, and Lirivo is also built around saving generated audio on your iPhone so you can keep listening without a network connection.

Are cloud voices included for free?

No. Lirivo does not sell bundled cloud voice credits. If you use Azure or Google Cloud voices, provider pricing, quotas, and free tiers are handled by your provider account. Free tiers and pricing can change, so always check the provider's current terms.

When does my text leave the phone?

Built-in iPhone voice playback can stay on device. Cloud voice mode sends the text needed for speech generation to the provider you choose.

Where are provider keys stored?

Provider credentials are stored locally using iOS Keychain, Apple's secure storage system for credentials.

Can I save audio for offline listening?

Yes. Optional cloud providers can generate audio files that Lirivo saves in your local audio library, so you can keep listening without a reliable network connection.

Is Lirivo an accessibility app?

Lirivo is designed for clear iPhone navigation, system media controls, Dynamic Type, and VoiceOver-aware workflows. Feedback from people who rely on these workflows is especially useful.
